
Gongura Rice / pulicha keerai Rice / Sorrel leaves Rice Ingredients: 2 bunches Gongura leaves/ sorrel leaves 4 cups cooked rice 2 Tblsp sesame oil/gingeli oil 1 onion chopped 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 Tblsp bengal gram/ Chana dal/ kadalai paruppu 1/2 tsp asafetida/ perungaayam 1 tsp turmeric 11/2 Tblsp dry fenugreek / methi/ venthaya keerai leaves 1 Tblsp coriander leaves Masala powder: 2 Tblsp coriander seeds 10 red chilli dried 1 Tblsp bengal gram/ Chana dal/ kadalai paruppu 1 Tblsp sesame seeds 2 sprig curry leaves Direction: Making Masala powder: Heat a pan and dry roast the ingredients under masala powder each one separately. Grind all together finely and keep it aside. Wash the leaves and dry it in a tower or paper under fan. Heat oil in a pan fry the gongura leaves until it cooks and shrinks . Once cool down make a paste of it and keep it aside. Then Heat 11/2 Tblsp of oil over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and allow to splutter and then add bengal gram add fry it. Add asafetida, fenugreek leaves. Add onion, turmeric and fry until onion cooks well. Add the ground paste into the pan , stir to mix . And cook for 2 mins.
