
Prawn thokku: Prawn is an excellent seafood delicacy and liked by all the seafood fans. It is called as prawn or shrimp and there is no formal explanation for the names. The prawn thokku is a spicy, tangy and mouth watering dish. My daughter likes it very. Both my children like prawn very much. Follow this simple recipe which can be done very quickly. You can use fresh prawn also. Ingredients: 150 g dry prawn 50ml sesame oil 1 tsp mustard seed 1/2 tsp asafoetida 2 tomatoes chopped 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 Tblsp chilli p[owder 1 Tblsp kashmiri chilli powder 3 Tblsp tamarind pulp 1 tomato ground 1 tsp fenugreek powder salt Direction: Soak the dried prawn for 15-20 mins. , wash it and drain the water. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed and asafoetida. Add turmeric into it. Add toamtoes and fry. Add chilli powder and salt. Cover and cook the tomatoes until soft. Then add the washed prawns into the pan and stir well. Cover the pan and let it cook in the tomato itself. no need to add water. Then open and add tamarind and ground tomato and stir well. Again cook for 2 mins cover the pan with a lid in low to medium flame. Open it and you can notice the oil is separated from the masala. At this stage add fenugreek powder and mix. Off the flame and keep it in a airtight jar. You can keep this for upto 7-8 days.
